There’s a particular store my wife absolutely loves.  What was the name of it again?…

assemble minions!

rabble rabble rabble from the masses

it's on the tip of my tounge...

Obligatory extra long holiday post (probably) coming up next.

December 8, 2010

Every once in awhile it feels so hard to keep up with life.  In general.  At large.  I have a couple draft posts in the queue I haven’t finished, I haven’t been to the gym in weeks, there’s an unopened bulk pack of pre-stretched canvas on my floor, the drill I ordered on Black Friday has been delivered but is still sitting by the front door (… at least I think it’s the drill? I haven’t yet opened the box yet), 3 giant unopened boxes tucked in the corner of the dining room hold the pieces of an uninstalled (but painted) body kit, I have a crate of 12 Molotow spray cans in my garage I have been meaning to paint swatches with, a few uninstalled window blinds are waiting patiently in the loft, sketches sit unloved in my sketchbook that are either uninked, unscanned, or both, I have some video footage I need to edit for a project before Xmas, my Civic is stuck sitting because I haven’t ordered and installed new brakes yet, it’ll be awhile before I get around to negotiating a sustainable peace agreement in Israel, and now I need to make a run to Wal-Mart to pick up another large pack of commas…

With work and the briskly-encroaching-winter-darkness Monday – Friday, it feels like I only really have the weekends to try to catch up.  Like everyone else, I look forward to the weekends each week, but what’s really keeping me going is looking forward to the short break around the corner with the Christmas and New Year holidays coming up.  I’m really hoping I’ll get some good solid chunks of time to relax, unwind with some creative projects, and perhaps catch up with some family and friends I haven’t been able to connect with lately.

Wait.  None of that is on the list of outstanding to-dos I opened with…

In the meantime, I have managed to accomplish a few things:

1) We setup the official Jocson Christmas tree for the first time in the new Jocson dining room.  This gave me an opportunity to play with lighting.

almost holiday postcard worthy?

2) I tinkered with the TL.

3) We hit up the last Blue Scholars show of 2010.  Presented by Red Hook at the Crocodile.  Quite possibly the sickest show in a long while.  They also debuted new tracks off their forthcoming Cinemetropolis album, which I am amped for.  I am excited about Blue Scholars all over again.  More on them to come, if I ever finish one of those previously mentioned draft posts…
